About me
I’m Lauren, a BABCP-accredited CBT therapist with over 10 years experience working in mental health services. Over the years I have supported adults, young people and children experiencing challenges with their mental health and wellbeing. I use evidence-based approaches tailored to individual needs. I aim to provide a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where people feel safe to explore challenges and work towards living the life they want to.
What is CBT?
CBT is a goal orientated structured talking therapy that explores connections between your thoughts, feelings & behaviours. Once we have made sense of what might be contributing to how you are feeling, we can start to develop new coping skills & habits giving you concrete, everyday tools to break negative habits, challenge stressful thoughts and regain control of your life.
What working with me looks like in practice:
A safe space: We look at your current challenges without judgement.
Identifying patterns: We map out the cycles holding you back.
Practical toolkits: You will learn tailored techniques for everyday use
Between-session action: Small, weekly homework tasks to practice your new skills.
A clear end-point: CBT is often short-term, typically lasting between 6 to 20 sessions, but this is tailored to individual needs.
