About me

Hi, I’m Lauren, a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist based in South West London, working with adults 18+ both in person and online, offering a supportive and confidential space to explore whatever may be bringing you to therapy.

I work with individuals often experiencing anxiety, low mood, depression, relationship difficulties, fertility-related concerns, and those struggling to navigate life transitions whether that be; Starting university, changing career, getting married or separation, parenthood, bereavement, loss and grief, illness, midlife, fertility challenges or retirement.

Clients often come to therapy with a strong sense of responsibility and self-expectation, this may feel overwhelming, causing emotional fatigued, or uncertain about how to move forward. This may include difficulties in establishing boundaries, recurring relational patterns, or a sense of disconnection from self.

I offer a warm, supportive and confidential space where you can feel at ease to be yourself, just as you are, without pressure or expectation.

How I work

I offer a collaborative and supportive approach to therapy, working alongside you to explore your experiences at a pace that feels comfortable and manageable. I see therapy as a shared process, where we can gently make sense of what may be happening for you, while creating space for reflection, insight, and change.

My work is grounded in building a safe, confidential and non-judgemental relationship, where you can feel at ease to speak openly. I aim to provide a space where you feel heard, understood, and respected, allowing you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences more deeply.

Together, we may look at how past experiences, relationships, and wider influences have shaped your current patterns, while also focusing on what is happening for you in the present. I support individuals in reconnecting with themselves, developing greater self-awareness, and finding ways of moving forward that feel more balanced and authentic.

I work integratively, meaning I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and tailor our work to your individual needs. Whether you are seeking support with anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, or life transitions, I will adapt the way we work together to best support you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a registered BACP counsellor and psychotherapist, holding a CPCAB Diploma in Integrative counselling.

My work is rooted in the understanding that healing is multi-dimensional and that effective therapy draws from more than one model. By integrating a range of therapeutic approaches, I tailor my work to meet each individual where they are, working collaboratively to create a therapeutic environment that supports their unique needs and goals.

I have over 10 years of experience working with families, children, adults, and parents across a range of settings, including educational environments, counselling services, the NHS, community-based support, residential care, and wraparound services. These roles have given me a broad and in-depth understanding of emotional wellbeing across the lifespan, as well as the varied ways people experience and respond to distress.

This experience has also deepened my understanding of the complexities of relationships and family dynamics, including the impact of early attachment experiences, developmental trauma, and systemic or environmental stressors. It has reinforced my belief in the importance of a compassionate, attuned, and relational approach to therapy, where each individual’s story is held with care and without judgement.

Alongside this, I bring a strong focus on supporting individuals to reconnect with themselves, make sense of their internal experiences, and develop greater emotional awareness and resilience. My aim is to provide a consistent, grounding space where meaningful change can unfold at a pace that feels safe, supportive and sustainable.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
