About me

Hello, I'm Lauren. Reaching out can often be the hardest part, and it takes courage to do so. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just need someone to talk to, you’re in the right place.

Life can be challenging at any age. Whether you're an adult facing stress, anxiety, loss, or life changes, or a child navigating big emotions and experiences, I offer a safe and supportive space where you can explore what’s on your mind. You don’t have to go through this alone—let’s navigate it together.

I work in a person-centred, experiential way, meaning that I tailor sessions to your unique needs, at your own pace. My role isn’t to give advice but to listen, support, and help you connect with your own thoughts and feelings in a way that leads to growth and healing.

For adults, this might mean talking through life’s difficulties, understanding emotions on a deeper level, or finding ways to cope with challenges.

For children, sessions are often more creative and playful, using storytelling, art, and other expressive methods to help them explore their feelings in a way that feels natural and safe.

No matter your age, my aim is to create a space where you feel heard, accepted, and understood.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).

Aside from the thorough training I have undertaken, most of my experience comes from my work as a therapist at a well-known family counselling agency in West Sussex. Here I have had the privilege of working with both adults and young people age 11+, gaining invaluable experience in supporting those facing a variety of mild to moderate mental health issues.

Now, alongside my work with children, I also run my own private practice, offering a compassionate, down-to-earth space for people to explore their thoughts and emotions at their own pace. Whether you’re struggling with something specific or simply looking for a deeper understanding of yourself, I’m here to support you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
