About me
Are you finding things overwhelming? Are you feeling anxious or stuck in a cycle of worry? Are you unable to move on or just have a general sense of not being happy? Is it that you lack self esteem or confidence? Or are you just feeling like you are ready for a change but are not sure how this will look?
I will support you to explore your feelings and emotions while working to identify the root of the problem and help you to find your own solutions which sometimes may be a case of looking at things from a different perspective.
I work using a person centred approach with individuals on one to one basis. I am trained in talking therapy as well as contemporary and creative approaches to therapy; which allows me to offer the likes of art, drama, music dance and play therapy techniques to meet my clients preferences and to offer a holistic approach. I have built up my private practice ‘Breaking Down the Walls’ to support individuals through life’s challenges and have experience since 2016 working with adults in community and crisis centres and with young people in primary and secondary schools, colleges, university’s and within the youth justice sector.
It is an absolute privilege to support people from all walks of life to process sometimes difficult and challenging thoughts, feelings and experiences by providing calm and grounding techniques in a safe environment.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a BSc (Hons) Child Health & Wellbeing and a MSc Psychotherapy & Counselling; contemporary & creative approaches.
I have worked with clients in primary and secondary schools, colleges, universities and within a crisis center with clients ranging right across the life span.
I have particular experience working with neurodiverse clients; in particularly individuals with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism, and clients experiencing anxiety, stress, identity and issues related to their self-esteem and confidence.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
