About me

I’m Laura, an Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor specialising in creative, child‑centred therapy for ages 4–18. My work is shaped by over 20 years of experience with children, families and adults across a range of therapeutic roles, giving me a deep understanding of how early experiences influence emotional wellbeing throughout life.

I use art and play based approaches such as sandtray and imagery to help individuals explore their experiences safely and at a pace that feels comfortable. My areas of expertise include:

  • Attachment & relationship difficulties.
  • Childhood trauma.
  • Anxiety.
  • Grief & loss.

My sessions usually last around 50 minutes and are tailored to the individual needs of each person. For child work we also hold regular family review sessions to help everyone stay connected, informed, and involved in the process.

I also offer therapeutic parenting and antenatal wellbeing sessions, giving parents and caregivers a calm, supportive space to grow in confidence and strengthen their connection with their children. These sessions help to understand a child’s emotional world, respond with greater attunement, and build secure, nurturing relationships from the very beginning. Whether you’re preparing to welcome a new baby or navigating the challenges of parenting, I provide guidance that helps you feel more grounded, more confident, and more connected to the child in front of you and the parent you want to be.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
