About me
Hi I am Laura. I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor. I was trained from a pluralistic approach, which means I work collaboratively with clients to identify their needs and goals. I may use different counselling methods at different times in order to help reach these goals and needs. This includes person centred, CBT and psychodynamic therapy approaches.
I have experience working with children, young people and adults. I am here providing somewhere safe for you to talk, explore what is going on for you and for you to feel valued and understood. I also work creatively if it is difficult to put into words how you are feeling and what you are thinking.
I have an extensive background of working with teenagers and currently work as a child counsellor two days a week.
I also work with adults in private practice, and have had experience working with clients experiencing anxiety including OCD, depression, bereavement and loss, low self esteem, trauma, friendship issues, work issues, relationships, family issues and relationships.
Whoever I am working with, a therapeutic relationship is key to my practice. I will provide you with a safe, non judgemental, confidential space.
I offer online and face to face counselling.
I am a member of the BACP and NCPS and follow the code of ethics to high standards of practice for the people I see.
