About me
Hello, I'm Laura a BACP Senior Accredited Counsellor and Supervisor having NHS experience with over 12,000 client hours.
I have been working with clients for over 15 years and couples for over 13 years offering genuine and non judgmental support.
Whether you are an individual or couple dealing with a marriage or relationship issue, let us work together towards you feeling happier, more confident, focussed and ready for change.
In addition and more importantly I will help you to explore and understand why you felt challenged, to reduce the impact and the chance of the same problems repeating themselves.
Clients come to me for counselling, often termed talking therapy, for a short period of time (often 6-8 weeks) or more psychotherapy based work for a number of years. Concerns range from depression, anxiety/panic attacks and stress, relationship, family and childhood issues, bereavement, abuse & bullying, infertility, work related issues, illness and life changes.
I work with each client on an individual level using therapies which best suit their personality and the issues they wish to explore. Whichever interventions I use, clients say that being listened to, being able to talk in a confidential, warm, trusting environment and being encouraged to challenge their thinking has really helped them.
I appreciate that many people have no experience of counselling and may feel anxious as to what to expect, or unsure if they are ready to take that step. I am happy to speak with you to answer any questions you may have to help ease your concerns and to arrange a counselling assessment appointment.
Please call me on 07581 183994.
Relationship and Marriage Counselling
Helping couples who are struggling in marriage, relationships or who are separated to communicate more effectively, by providing a safe space for them to share their thoughts and feelings. Through this, couples are more able to learn from one another and understand where their relationship breakdown has occurred.
The next stage of relationship counselling is then on supporting couples to work together towards moving forwards, with confidence, in the direction that they choose.
I offer support for:-
- Same gender partnerships
- Heterosexual relationships
- Married couples
- Partnerships
- Family issues
- Sibling rivalry
- Work colleagues conflicts
Best Wishes
Laura

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
