About me

If anxiety, stress or panic attacks are causing you difficulty in your life I could be the right counsellor for you.

I specialise in working with anxiety.

Having lived with and learnt how to manage high anxiety,  I understand how debilitating anxiety can be, not only the constant worry and overthinking, but the  awful physical symptoms that accompany anxiety.

I work alongside you helping you to understand anxiety and why anxiety may be feeling out of your control and difficult to manage.

Your anxiety experience will be individual to you, so together we gain an understanding about what is causing your anxiety and the best approach to help you reduce both the mental and physical effects of anxiety on daily life. Through talking therapy and the introduction of CBT techniques, that have been proven to help reduce anxiety,  you can to start to live a calmer more enjoyable life

The most important part of the therapy, I believe, is how well we get on and the relationship we build, putting you at ease as we work through your problems.

A past client wrote this review

Counselling with Laura helped me move from a place of negative anxiety and depression, that would stop me from putting myself in social situations, to a place where I feel confident and can manage my anxiety

I offer your 1st session at £30, for 50 minutes, so we can discuss how I might be able to help and for you to ask any questions you have. You can then decide if I am the right consellor for you.

I have a relaxed way of working and it is important to me that you feel comfortable to share your troubles so that together we can find a way to make things better for you.

I have a lovely bright, comfortable room in Parkstone, Poole,  for face to face sessions, where you will feel safe and relaxed.

I also offer video sessions via zoom.

If you are looking for a friendly and effective counsellor than please call me to discuss how I can help you.

Ring me any time on 07975 733029 or E-Mail laura@seeclearcounselling,co.uk to find out more.

Were you a victim of Childhood abuse?

Being a victim of childhood abuse whether it be physical, mental or emotional often means you are, even now, on constant high alert for the danger around you and this leads to anxiety and panic.

Exploring past trauma and finding ways to cope with life better, can be extremely difficult. I understand this, but I am here to be by your side and help you cope with those difficult feelings and memories.

I will always work at your pace, this is very important for you and for me.

If this is something that troubles you, you can be assured of an understanding & confidential environment to talk about this and through the work we do together you will find a way to manage your fears, reduce your anxiety and stop your panic attacks.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

On line video or telephone counselling may be a good option for you in this current climate, I am experienced in offering this option to you.

However, I believe Counselling should be available to everyone and cost should not be a barrier to you being able to access Counselling.

I, therefore, offer a sliding scale depending on your circumstances, which we discuss at your Introductory session.

I also offer a discount for block bookings as attending counselling on a weekly basis is shown to be more beneficial.

If you are a trainee counsellor call me to discuss my discounted rates for students.
