About me
Finding the right therapist can be a daunting task – where to start!? Let's start with what's going on for you... Maybe you’re having difficulties with your relationships or your health. You might be feeling distressed by past experiences or finding it hard to find your place in the world. Perhaps you’re navigating a life transition, or you just feel stuck and unhappy. You might have a clear idea of what you’re looking for, or perhaps all you know is that you’re struggling and need help.
I am qualified, experienced psychotherapist and trauma-informed yoga teacher who has been supporting people with self-development and improving wellbeing for over 20 years. I aim to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, the difficulties you’re facing, and how you can move forwards with your life in the way that is right for you.
I work with adults, young people and couples through in-person sessions at my practice based in Nottingham (NG7) and telephone/online sessions worldwide. My therapeutic approach is both relational and integrative - a safe, trusting relationship is central to successful therapy, however what you might need from the relationship at any given time can vary. Collaboration is key, as is moving at a pace that is right for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
My core training is in Person-Centred & Experiential Psychotherapy however I work in an integrative manner, drawing from a range of interventions to help foster self-awareness and action meaningful change. Prior to training in psychotherapy, I worked in Health & Social Care, primarily in drug and alcohol recovery and mental health. I have also worked in a children's home supporting young people who experienced developmental trauma.
I specialise in working with the mind-body connection, drawing from both Eastern wisdom and contemporary research to support your healing and growth. I have worked extensively with people experiencing addiction, burnout, complex trauma, relationship difficulties, Functional Neurological Disorder, and other (physical and mental) health concerns. I have also supported people through grief, loss, and life transitions including divorce, becoming a parent and retirement.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information
Whilst it is important to consider my qualifications, experience and approach, having a sense of who I am as a person can also help you decide if I might be the right therapist for you. My approach is underpinned by person-centred and feminist values meaning I respect and promote individuality and personal power whilst acknowledging ways that modern living, systems, and social injustice might be limiting or distressing you. Authenticity, integrity, and compassion are core values meaning that you can expect me to be honest, open, and genuinely interested in you.
I believe that developing self-awareness and compassion are instrumental in supporting healing and growth, and whilst we are all capable of change, I have learned that sometimes it can only occur through a safe and caring relationship. If you would like to hear more or want to take the next step towards finding out if I can help, then please reach out and book a free 15 min consultation. Thank you.
