About me

Along with my skills and expertise as a fully trained Person Centred Counsellor I work firstly with warmth and understanding to support the transition into your personal counselling experience.

With a wide variety of experience in supporting those from various ages groups, backgrounds and cultures suffering with anxiety, depression, loss grief and bereavement, trauma, overwhelm, neurodivergence, relationship issues, self esteem, menopause, life changes, addiction issues and those from the LGBTQIA+ community, my approach is flexible, adaptable, and is built on care and respect.

With previous experience of working within a hospice, and a cancer charity for many years, I also specialise in supporting those affected by life limiting diseases, along with their family, friends and carers.

In this fast paced world of expectations and demands I am passionate in offering an environment which allows you some focus and time just for you.  A mental and physical space that can help you to realign with yourself. A space where positive change can take place within the areas of your life you hope to gain more from.

It can be difficult to take the steps to reach out for support, I have been here myself and appreciate how daunting this can be and the feelings and resistance that may surround it. Once over this first hurdle, I hope to support you in navigating the opportunity you will have to benefit from this brave decision, in the hope to taking the steps required to invite positive change into your life.

Training, qualifications & experience

My skills and expertise lie in passionately supporting those affected by a selection of areas such as anxiety, self harm, gender transition, social anxiety, low mood, overwhelm, loss grief and bereavement, self harm, trauma, anger, relationship issues, ADHD and adjusting to life changes. Using a person centred approach to gain understanding of self, whilst offering professional reflection and tools, we work together to tailor our sessions to your needs lending focus and working through the areas important to you.

Working within a hospice and cancer charity over the years I also have experience in supporting those affected by a cancer diagnosis, and those who are living with life limiting diseases.  I offer counselling support not only to the patients, but to their carers and loved ones.

Of course skills and experience are important, however my qualities of genuineness, warmth and understanding I feel add to the support I offer, to create a genuine and relaxed environment.

With experience in supporting those living with neurodivergance, I understand the importance of tailoring our space to your needs to ensure that you feel safe and comfortable during your personal counselling experience.

Other avenues of support include coaching, which can be really useful on their own when at a crossroads in life, or to follow on from therapy sessions, lending focus and guidance to specific practical areas in life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
