About me
My name is Laura and I’m an integrative therapist specialising in working with children and young people. My approach is grounded in creating a safe, trusting space where each young person feels heard, accepted and supported. Sometimes, things can feel overwhelming. If you're struggling and need someone to talk to, I provide a warm, compassionate environment where you can explore your feelings and experiences. You don't have to work things out alone- I'm here to support you, whatever you're facing.
How I work
Being an integrative therapist means I am able to tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each young person I work with, drawing from a range of approaches, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), art and creative therapy, systemic family therapy, narrative therapy and trauma-informed therapy. Sometimes this means talking things through; other times it is about finding creative ways to express feelings that are hard to put into words.
I support clients up to the age of 25 with a variety of challenges, including anger, anxiety, depression, trauma, family separation and conflict, bereavement and loss. I work collaboratively with each client to help them develop coping skills and resilience. I am dedicated to empowering young people to process their emotions, understand their experiences and move forward with a greater sense of well-being.
I have come to counselling from an educational background which has given me insight and understanding into some of the social and emotional difficulties young people experience, such as relationship challenges, academic stress, bullying and self-esteem issues.
I have worked as a therapist for Relate and a bereavement charity supporting children and young people who have experienced the death of a parent or sibling.
I support face-to-face clients in the Rutland and Leicestershire area and offer a choice of two locations.
If you or someone you love is going through a difficult time and is looking for support, please feel free to get in touch, and we can discuss the next steps.
If you would like to book a free introductory call for yourself or your child, please get in touch, and we can arrange a convenient time.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
