About me

Hi! I’m Laura. I’m a counselling therapist and the owner of All In: mental wellbeing services. I have a particular (but not exclusive) interest in using my counselling skills to grow understanding of and support for neurodivergence.

Living in a world designed for neurotypical minds can be challenging, whether you’re neurodivergent yourself or supporting someone who is. These challenges are known to potentially lead to anxiety, depression, shame and self-criticism. All of which can stop you from shaping a life that supports your wellbeing.

Whether you’re neurodivergent, a parent or carer of a neurodivergent child, or have a neurodivergent sibling or partner, I offer an online counselling space tailored to your needs. Using my skills, training, and experience, we can work together to explore the changes that are within your power to make.

And what does change look like? It might mean understanding yourself better, accepting yourself more, treating yourself with the compassion you deserve, or developing skills to help you navigate daily life with more ease. What it absolutely isn’t is changing who you are just to ‘fit in’ more.

My core training is in person-centred therapy, so I’m committed to truly understanding your perspective—offering you what might be the rare experience of feeling truly listened to and understood. On top of this, I’ve completed extra training in third-wave CBT. This means we can introduce ideas and perspectives from mindfulness, DBT, ACT and CFT into our work together. All of which offer great insights into how we relate to our thoughts and emotions, helping to build self-compassion, emotional fortitude and greater psychological flexibility.

Before I became a counsellor, I worked in education, so I also love using skills from that time to offer perspectives on why our minds do the things they do. Lifting the weight of a lifetime of feeling out of place.

Starting counselling can feel really daunting and accessing counselling online might feel like it has its own challenges. One of the best indicators that therapy is going to be successful for you, is the relationship you develop with your therapist. You might already be getting a sense of how we’d work together, but to further check out whether this is the right therapy and I’m the right therapist for you I offer a free 20-minute call to explore your needs and what I can offer.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
