About me
Hello, and a warm welcome to my profile.
As an individual, I understand how overwhelming life can feel at times, and that reaching out for support is not always easy. I also believe that healing and growth can emerge when we are met with understanding, acceptance and genuineness within a supportive therapeutic relationship.
I offer a warm, empathic and non-judgemental space where together, we can build a relationship based on trust and understanding. Within this space, you are free to explore whatever difficulties you may be experiencing, at a pace that feels right for you.
I work with people experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, stress, work related difficulties, relationship and family challenges, low self-esteem and past experiences that continue to feel painful or unresolved. You may be struggling with present-day challenges, or deeper, more long-standing issues that feel stuck and in need of greater understanding.
My experience and further training extend across many areas, including working with care-experienced young people and families, fostering services and adoption.
Whatever you may be going through, therapy can offer a safe and confidential space where you do not have to face things alone. If you feel ready to take the next step, please feel free to get in touch.
Training, qualifications & experience
- Professional Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy
- Systemic Family Therapy to Intermediate level
- MSc Child and Youth Care studies
- Member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP)
- Member off the Association of Family Therapists (AFT)
Over the past 20 years, I've worked across residential services, mental health charities and community based support. This experience, alongside my therapeutic training has shaped my integrated approach as a psychotherapeutic counsellor - one that recognises the complex relationship between our personal experiences and the wider society we live in.
"Combining Person - Centred Therapy and Systemic Family Practice creates a compassionate, relational approach. It can help you to explore emotions, not only within your internal world, but also in the context of family dynamics, supporting healing, growth and healthier relationships through empathy, acceptance and systemic awareness'.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

In addition to my work as a therapist, I am also a suicide prevention trainer. This experience has strengthened my knowledge and skills in supporting individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts, as well as those supporting others in distress or feeling overwhelmed.
I also have experience working alongside interpreters when English is not a client’s first language, helping to ensure individuals feel heard, understood and supported
My aim is always to gain an understanding of what you hope to gain from therapy, including whether this feels more suited to time-limited or longer-term work.
