MBACP

About me

I am a compassionate and experienced counsellor and a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), offering both short-term and open-ended therapy that is carefully tailored to each individual’s needs in a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental environment.

My integrative approach draws on my training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), as well as Person Centred Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy, enabling flexible and evidence informed support across a range of concerns. I specialise in Anxiety related disorders but also work with adults across a range of issues to address general and work-related stress, anxiety, panic attacks and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), low mood and depression, life transitions (including mid-life challenges), health related psychological distress, and issues around low self-confidence and self-esteem.

Grounded in evidence-based interventions but always responsive to each person’s unique journey, I collaborate with clients to foster insight, resilience, and personal growth, whether you are exploring the past, navigating present challenges, or looking toward future possibilities.

Areas of focus include:

  • Anxiety, panic attacks and panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), overwhelm
  • Stress management, wellbeing, and managing change
  • Work-related stress, burnout, and career transitions
  • Low self-confidence and self-esteem
  • Life transitions including mid-life insight work
  • Feeling stuck or creatively blocked
  • Low mood and depression
  • Health challenges and psychological adjustment

If you’d like to find out more about how I can help you, please get in touch for a free introductory call. I know choosing a counsellor can feel overwhelming, and finding someone you feel comfortable with is important. I'm very happy to help you work out what feels right for you, whether or not we decide to work together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
