The power of working together is at the core of every therapeutic relationship.
There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.
What it is like to work with me in therapy?
Empathy is at the core of all communication during our sessions. I will collaborate with you looking at what difficulties are being experienced and what solutions can be found. It’s like having another mind in the room thinking together and problem solving, finding creative solutions to life’s difficulties. Two minds coming together to help you achieve your goals, facilitating you to be able to live the life you want to have.
Training, qualifications & experience
My background is in Psychology, having attained BSc (Hons) with further professional qualifications, PG Dip in Counselling and Therapeutic Communication with PG Cert in Professional Practice from University of Ulster. I am a member of BACP regulating body since 2016.
Over the years I have gained experience working with clients covering many areas such as anxiety, depression, stress, work related issues, bereavement and managing life changes and stages and the self worth that results in experiencing such challenges.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and therefore is tailored to each individual’s needs
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
