About me

I am a warm, friendly and approachable  professionally qualified counsellor and a registered member of the NCPS (Accredited). I believe that the therapeutic relationship between client and counsellor is central to successful therapy, working with adults and couples I offer a warm, safe and non-judgmental environment where I will help to support you on your journey to resolve any issues in your life that you wish to share and may be struggling with. I offer telephone and online counselling, both daytime and evening appointments at a time to suit you.

Clinical experience:

I have completed additional training to work with couples and have also undertaken additional training with a local sexual and domestic violence charity, RSACC, and worked for 2 years at MelanomeMe Foundation, a cancer charity working with those affected by Melanoma and skin cancers. I have experience of working with clients who have issues including anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, ADHD, ASD, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), health anxiety, lack of motivation, self-esteem issues, and survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. I have also completed additional training to offer online and telephone counselling alongside face to face therapy.

Approaches:

I work in an integrative way using a range of different modalities and therapies in order to find the right fit for you. At the core of my work is person centred therapy which is client led, but I also include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic and Transactional Analysis (TA) to ensure sessions are tailored to the individual.

My approach when working with couples is more solution focused looking at issues within relationships and patterns of communication. I have completed additional training in working with intimacy and sexual problems.

I am interested in a holistic approach and am a huge advocate of selfcare and mindfulness, believing that good mental health is vital to our overall wellbeing. I will often use this and psychoeducation in sessions to enable you to work with a mental health toolbox which will support you alongside counselling.
