About me
Thank you for viewing my details. I run a confidential and compassion-based practice in a safe and secure environment for those experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship problems, Trauma/PTSD
My work and experience as an Integrative therapist, of over 22 years can provide you with short and open-ended counselling and Mindfulness Training as well as other psychological interventions including Transactional Analysis (the method of understanding how we communicate with others and how others communicate with us and the positive or negative effects this can have on our emotional state, self-esteem and ability to function with emotional resilience) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), for Trauma/PTSD and small 't' trauma which develops from neglect, abuse and constant emotional attacks.
It can be very hard to decide to enter into therapy but making that first step is the step to understanding the very nature of how the mind works and what we can do to be effective in changing negative thought patterns and unwanted belief systems.
The experience you will have when working with me is underpinned by my own life experiences that have guided me to work with young people and adults and knowing this you can feel confident that you are with a qualified therapist who will listen at a deeper level with an open heart and acceptance.
Working with Compassion and Acceptance is at the heart of the therapeutic interventions I offer and I encourage all my clients to engage in the practice of Mindfulness to use as a lifelong tool to manage anxiety and stress, this, of course, has to be a personal choice and can be agreed at the beginning of your sessions with me.
As a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I adhere to its Code of Conduct and Ethical Practices. I respect all genders and, sexual orientations, ethnicities, religions and other personal differences. Supervision and professional training are regularly attended.
I now offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). This method of the humanistic approach is a client-centred approach and helps clients accelerate the processing of traumatic, frozen memories and resolves fixed negative behavioural patterns. This approach is based on Carl Rogers' postulation that humans have a natural and innate desire to grow and integrate experiences, a desire which can develop in a safe setting. The guided EMDR process supports the precise observation and differentiated experiencing of internal processes as well as a reflective understanding and acceptance of links of the links and connections relating to their condition.
Clients often report spontaneous insights into themselves which are linked to the traumatic memories, which empower them to comprehend and integrate new feelings, thoughts and actions.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
