About me
Hello I'm Kelly.
The women I work with are experiencing feelings of overwhelm, a lack of self worth and confidence. They feel like they are on autopilot in their own lives with a pressure to hold things together as they have always done. They experience feelings of guilt and shame and are not able to explain the sudden shift in their moods.
They feel alone, isolated, unsupported and unheard with an overwhelming feeling of they "should" be able to cope.
Working with me has enabled these women to feel heard in the safety of a warm, supported environment, whether that has been in person in my therapy room in Banbury or online or via the telephone, a choice that they made.
They have been able to say exactly what they are feeling with no fear of judgement, ridicule or belittlement. I offer a space where every thought, feeling or emotion has been spoken about and explored with compassion, warmth and understanding.
The women I work with leave the space feeling understood and heard.
How it feels to work with me
I want you to feel safe and comfortable so that you can trust me to open up. I provide a space for you to explore all your feelings, thoughts and emotions. Where raw emotions are met with respect and compassion and you feel held.
My person centred foundation, from my integrative training means I offer a grounded, supportive, reflective environment, putting you at the heart of the work.
As well as drawing on other modalities I look at the connection between how you feel in your body as well as your mind. I am a qualified Breathwork Coach and can bring in breathwork exercises to the space as well. I will discuss introducing somatic work or breathwork with you as this is not for everyone, it will be your choice and decision.
We will always work in a way that is right for you. I will work alongside you whilst you navigate your experiences. Providing you with a space to be you, to feel heard, listened to, seen and supported.
Who I work with
I work with women who are experiencing:
Perimenopause & Menopause
You may be experiencing immediate, uncontrollable shifts in your moods with no warning. A loss of confidence and your ability to hold a space how you used to, both at work and in your personal life. Your enthusiasm for things has lessened and everyday tasks can seem daunting.
Life Changes
These can be anything from relationship changes to changes in your professional life and to children leaving home. This can lead to you questioning who you are and what is your purpose.
Grief & Bereavement
When someone dies you can feel a variety of emotions and feelings. Relief, guilt, sadness, anger and denial are just some of them. Sometimes your relationship with the person that has died was complicated which can lead to older feelings and emotions resurfacing.
Loss
Loss is not just experienced when someone dies. We experience loss when we leave work to raise children or for health reasons. When children leave the home we will experience feelings of loss. You can loose your identity when everything that has defined your life for so long changes and you are suddenly left with the questions of "who am I" and "what do I do now".
What next?
If you have read the above and felt "this is how I am feeling" then please feel free to contact me to ask any further questions that you have. I offer a free initial phone call/zoom where we can talk about what you are looking for and how I work. There is no obligation to book your first session on the call or work me.
I appreciate and understand that choosing the right counsellor for you can seem like a daunting task so ensuring that you have the time to make the right decision for you is important to me.
Understanding that everyone has different needs I offer support in person from a private room in Banbury as well as online and telephone support (UK wide). This allows you to decide what is right for you.
If you feel that I might be the person that can provide you with the space you need then I look forward to hearing from you. If not then thank you for reading and I wish you good luck with finding the right counsellor.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
