About me

Are you seeking a safe and supportive space where you can express your feelings and work through those challenging thoughts?

My counselling space is non-judgemental, supportive, and inviting; offering a place where you can freely express your emotions, share your experiences, and explore your challenges. Ensuring that you feel seen, heard, and genuinely understood whilst in a safe and empathic environment.

Each individual is unique and brings their own diverse experiences to the counselling space as such the counselling journey is different for each one of us. By working collaboratively with you, we can create an environment of trust and acceptance, helping you to explore your emotions and navigate life's obstacles.

As for how I got here, I came to the counselling environment with a genuine drive to support people. I had a change of career in recent years and as a result, I acknowledge and am aware of how the day-to-day pressures of work and life can impact and add challenges to our lives.

From personal experience, I know how selecting the right counsellor can be a lot to process and can feel daunting. Making the decision to talk and share your thoughts and/or confusion about what you are feeling can be challenging. The relationship and rapport between Counsellor and Client is an essential element of the counselling process, I offer a free initial call to have a chat and answer any questions.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am fully insured and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) adhering to its ethical framework and guidelines.

  • Certificate in Walk & Talk Therapy in The Outdoors
  • Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • Level 3 Counselling Skills
  • Level 2 Counselling Concepts
  • BA Hons Applied Social Science
  • Online and Telephone Counselling Certificate - Open University & BACP

I’ve worked with carers via a charity, with the focus on supporting adult carers so they can continue to care for others without losing sight of their own well-being. Counselling can create a space where carers are able to recognise their own needs, have their voices heard, help with their physical and mental wellbeing and ensure they are fully understood and feel valued in their caring role.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
