About me

I am a warm, caring person and counsellor and have always found it natural to empathise with others, encouraging them to express their feelings. I am  interested about how someone is 'feeling on the inside' , encouraging them to be curious about themselves while offering support.

I find that my life experiences, and my career allow me to connect and work collaboratively with clients. I have particular experience with counselling clients suffering from reduced confidence, low self-esteem, medical issues, bereavement and loss.

As a counsellor, I believe the most important skill is listening to the client,  allowing them time and space to figure out how best to help themselves, while figuring out the meaning behind some of their experiences. After all, everybody has a story and everybody's story is so important.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a psychotherapeutic counsellor and a member of the governing body NCPS ( national counselling and psychotherapy society ). I have years of experience supporting distressed families in a hospital environment and also counselling clients with issues around, anxiety, depression, loss, change, health, bereavement, low confidence, self esteem issues, low motivation, low mood and suicide ideation.

I was previously a qualified children's and adult nurse.

My engagements with clients  include face to face, telephone and  remote/video counselling.
