About me

I offer a warm, friendly, confidential service to discuss things which may be troubling you. We can all go through challenging times in our lives, so whether you are dealing with a specific problem, or you are unsure of what the route of of your difficulties are, or are juggling a number of challenging things, I am here to support you.

I am a firm believer that change is possible, but at times we can feel stuck and we can revert to unhelpful patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving. I have years of experience in support people to find their real selves and removing themselves from their stuckness, in order for them to reach their full potential, and lead a happy and fulfilling life.

I have a real interest in what makes people 'tick.' Why do we act, feel and behave in the ways that we do? How have our past experiences moulded who we are today? In what ways have our experiences impacted on our thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and are these serving us in the best possible way, or do some of these need challenging? These are the types of things we may explore in order for you to make the desired changes.

I am aware that it can be really daunting to enter into the counselling and psychotherapy process and that this may be the first time you have reached out for help and support. Picking up the phone and making that call is the first step, once you have made contact I am there to support you on the rest of the journey.

I offer both individual and couples Therapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
