About me

Life is challenging and whilst you are doing the best you can, sometimes we need to reach out for some help, which shows a commitment to make positive changes and huge courage.

I will work with you, at your pace, on the issues that you are struggling to make sense of or cope with. I will support you unconditionally on your counselling journey.

I work online and by telephone, making counselling accessible in whichever way suits you best. I work with young people and adults with a person-centred approach which means that I will accept you as you are, without judgement. I will walk alongside you as you explore your experiences, supporting you as you build awareness, coping strategies and become empowered, to find the answers within yourself.

The space I offer you is your time for you. I will not direct your sessions or tell you what to do as I believe that you are the expert on yourself. I hope to have the privilege of helping you with what you need from your therapeutic journey.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have experience working with the Teamwork Trust charity, Northampton Rape Crisis for survivors of sexual violence and within the NHS for CABS (Children and Adolescent Bereavement Services), as well as running my own private practice working with adults and young people aged 11yrs and upwards.  I work with many issues, including but not limited to; self-esteem and reduced confidence, grief, loss, anxiety, depression, anger, bullying, domestic and sexual violence, trauma and common day to day life problems. I attend many continual professional development courses to ensure that I am constantly up to date on my own learning.  I am based between North Northamptonshire and South Leicestershire, covering Market Harborough, Kettering and the surrounding area.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
