About me
I'm 40, married with children. I offer bespoke trauma-informed psychotherapy with a person-centered foundation to match the unique needs of each client I work with. Some like to talk, some like to learn and some like to get their hands into a more creative way of understanding themselves.
As the client, you are in charge of how you want your journey to play out. You decide how many sessions you feel are necessary and what areas of your life you wish to explore. I work in a small, calm, and welcoming environment that is a 5 minutes walk from Preston Docklands. telephone, video, and walk-talk therapy are also optional.
Additionally, I am a couple's counsellor, helping partnerships and marriages recover from difficulty whilst offering techniques and better ways of communicating and managing conflict.
I have been told I have a particular skill with teenagers and young adults in which I can fully understand their world and help them learn to understand the world around them.

I spent a few years working within a women's only organisation, helping to empower women who have come from adverse backgrounds or found themselves in an unsafe environment or, wanting to learn new skills. I still currently volunteer on the NHS Mental Health helpline assisting those in immediate risk to themselves in crisis. I thoroughly enjoy my work there and will continue to offer this for as long as I am able.
Before branching out solo, I spent around 18 months self-employed working within an already established clinic alongside some amazing therapists whose vast amount of knowledge and skill which has shaped how I work with clients. I will be forever grateful for all the experience I have gained over the years.
Additionally, alongside my private practice, I work within a private psychiatry clinic and offer psychotherapy to patients struggling with their diagnosis.
I have a full practice and enjoy all areas in which I work. Psychoeducation and personal development for my clients is the driving force behind the strong relationships i uphold with those i work with.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

I've noticed that in sessions, my clients bring the behaviour and experiences of those close to them into session. Through them, I have been able to help my client understand and manage their spouse and get those close to them the help that is needed when and where appropriate. There is also the opportunity for partners, and parents to attend a session (with the client's consent) to help with conflict management or immediacy if needed.
