About me

As part of my training to become a qualified counsellor, there was a requirement to attend personal therapy. What I learnt about myself during that time has contributed to my outlook and perspective on life in a positive way. I believe that everyone should be given the time, space and opportunity to really understand who they are. There is an emphasis on us to look after the outside, but we will never be fulfilled unless we look after the inside!

Finding clarity can be difficult on your own, especially with the constant noise, pressures and demands of everyday life. Together, through conversation, resources and practical tools, we can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences that may be holding you back.

Sessions are conducted on a one-to-one basis and tailored to your individual needs. We will monitor and review your progress along the way and work at your pace. Some clients attend for a one-off appointment to explore a specific issue, while others choose ongoing support. There is no obligation to commit to a set number of sessions.

I offer online counselling as well as face-to-face appointments in a lovely private setting in Branton, and if the weather's nice we have the option to walk and talk in the grounds.

I understand it can feel overwhelming to seek support, and choosing the right counsellor is an important step. Therefore, I've kept my profile clear and straightforward.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
