About me
Hello and welcome. I’m Katie, a qualified counsellor providing a confidential and supportive place where you can explore your feelings at your own pace.
It can be difficult to find counselling support by searching online. This profile offers an overview of my counselling work but I offer a free 15-minute call so you can consider whether I’m the right fit for you. It’s an opportunity to ask any questions you may have and perhaps to talk through what you’re looking for from counselling. Importantly, you can get a sense of whether I’m the right person to work with you.
My work with clients covers a range of different emotional difficulties; the main focus is grief, bereavement, loss and anxiety.
I work in a way that is calm, gentle and reflective. I bring a sense of compassion and curiosity, without judgement.
I strongly believe in the therapeutic benefit of exploring difficult, painful or uncomfortable feelings with someone who doesn’t judge you, who gives you space to share; and where you feel heard and accepted by them.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Counselling sessions last 50 minutes and are available for both adults and secondary school–aged children (11–18). Sessions can take place face-to-face in Maidstone or online, depending on what feels most comfortable for you
Sessions are usually held weekly, as this helps to build consistency and support the therapeutic process. I generally suggest beginning with a minimum of six sessions, although the decision about how frequently and how long we work together will always remain with you
- I have an enhanced DBS Certificate
- I am registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO)
- I have professional indemnity and public liability insurance
