About me

I am a psychoanalytic psychotherapist offering a thoughtful, confidential space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. I have extensive experience working both privately and within the NHS and community mental health services, supporting individuals with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties.

My approach is trauma-informed and grounded in psychoanalytic thinking. This means we work not only with what is happening in your life now, but also with the deeper patterns, relationships, and past experiences that may be shaping how you feel and relate to others. I pay close attention to the therapeutic relationship, as it often provides valuable insight into recurring dynamics. I offer open-ended therapy for adults, either in person in Central London/Clapham or online. Sessions take place weekly at a consistent time, providing a stable and reliable setting for meaningful work to unfold. If you are considering therapy, I offer an initial consultation where we can explore what brings you and whether working together feels like the right fit.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified psychoanalytic psychotherapist with a strong academic and clinical background.

I hold an MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy from Birkbeck, University of London. My earlier training includes a Certificate in Humanistic and Psychodynamic Counselling from Goldsmiths, University of London, as well as a Counselling Skills Diploma from Birkbeck, University of London. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and work in accordance with their ethical framework.

Clinically, I have experience working within both NHS and community mental health settings, as well as in private practice. I have worked as an Honorary Psychotherapist within South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, providing long-term psychodynamic psychotherapy to individuals presenting with complex needs, including self-harm and high levels of emotional distress. This role involved in-depth assessment, formulation, and ongoing therapeutic work within a multidisciplinary team. My experience includes working with trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, identity issues, and patterns of behaviour that may feel difficult to change. I bring a reflective, relational, and culturally sensitive approach to my work.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

I offer therapy in English, Portuguese, Spanish, and French, which allows me to work with clients from a range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. I am committed to providing a culturally sensitive and inclusive space where different experiences and identities can be explored with care and respect. Both are welcome. We can take time to think together about what brings you and what you might need from the process. Sessions are held weekly and last 50 minutes.
