About me

Hello, I’m a qualified and experienced counsellor that takes pride in my reliability and empathetic approach to therapy.

I have supported many clients in exploring, accepting and resolving issues that they have brought to their sessions, often receiving positive feedback on my ability to help people feel understood and listened to.

Looking after your mental health is important. In my sessions, I focus on providing you with a safe space in which you can truly be heard, allowing us to develop a strong, safe and compassionate therapeutic relationship within which we can explore any issues or difficulties that you wish to discuss. I believe that engaging in the counselling process can provide a greater understanding of yourself and your situation, which in turn can help you to lead a happier, healthier and more fulfilling life.

One of my strengths is my ability to approach challenging subjects with an open mind, seeing things from various perspectives. In my time as a counsellor, I have helped many people with a wide range of things they wish to deal with. I would love to use my experience and skills to listen, support and help you.

It can take courage to take the first step. Let me help you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Humanistic Integrative Counsellor, focused on providing Person Centred Therapy. As a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, I work to their Ethical Framework and Code of Practice. I have previously worked as a Learning Mentor before becoming a Counsellor. I completed a placement at Redlands training and counselling service before joining Cruse Bereavement and Dorset Mind. I now run my own practice from the centre of Salisbury.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
