About me

Day to day living can be full of complicated life experiences, that leave you feeling overwhelmed, stressed and full of anxiety. These experiences can affect your relationships, physical health, mental health and compromise your normal function.

How I can help

I offer professional and confidential counselling allowing clients to explore their experiences in an empathic non-judgemental way. In the peace and tranquillity of my counselling room, I share a therapeutic environment for clients to explore their potential and achieve their individual goals.

Training, qualifications & experience

Professional History & experience.

For 25 years I have worked in the field of Mental health, working both in the community and on mental health wards. Offering emotional support and guidance to help people make sense of their world.

Qualifications.

Achieved a postgraduate diploma, followed by a Masters in Person-Centred Counselling. Since qualifying, I have continued with various training programs, including relationship counselling, trauma, and disassociation counselling. I have also completed an Accreditation process with BACP highlighting that I am offering the best practice standards.

Counselling Experience.

I have Professional experience working as a counsellor at sue lambert trust in Norwich counselling both men and women that have suffered sexual abuse or domestic violence. I have worked at both the NHS and Mind as a counsellor offering one-to-one sessions for many issues such as anxiety and depression, relationship issues, and physical disabilities. Panic disorders and phobias.

I also work as a specialist mental health mentor, for Randstad, offering support for students who are struggling with life issues whilst attempting university courses.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
