About me

Hello,

My name is Katie and I am a fully qualified Integrative Psychotherapist (UKCP accred) with experience working with many different mental health issues.

A very warm welcome to my page from me. I understand making the decision to find a therapist and commit to therapy can be overwhelming. I am here to make the experience as peaceful as possible. Below you will find a little bit about what working with me might be like, and what I can offer you.

My training in Integrative Psychotherapy means I can combine therapeutic approaches to create a therapy relevant and appropriate for each and every client.  When working with me, you will get a tailor made therapeutic experience as I understand that no one size fits all when it comes to mental health. I am committed to helping you express yourself, to strengthen your innate ability to make choices and to empower yourself to make any changes you need to in order to move forward in life.

My integrative stance is built on and from my Psychodynamic and Person-Centred beliefs. I believe that understanding our earliest experiences and relationships, and having an awareness of these, provides a vital context for appreciating and navigating current life events.

What can I offer you? Well, I firmly believe the relationship between you and I is paramount to the therapy's success. I therefore work highly collaboratively. I am not the expert on you. Instead I offer you a space where together we can work on revealing the expert in you. Your comfort and safety are of utmost importance to me.  I offer regular check in's to see how you are experiencing the sessions and if there is anything we need to change or do differently. I offer a safe, warm, reliable and confidential space where you can bring the aspects of your life that otherwise wouldn't get space. I can offer you a place to come where you can be really heard and seen.

My face to face clinics currently run on a Monday and Tuesday.  I work with individuals aged 18 and over from a lovely room in the heart of Crystal Palace.  With its excellent transport links, it’s an easy and accessible spot for a session. I also offer remote sessions over Zoom. These remote sessions are agreed on a case by case basis.

If you are interested in setting up an initial meeting then please contact me via email.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained at Regent’s University London at the well-respected school of Psychotherapy and Counselling.  Here, I received my Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling. I am accredited by the UK Council for Psychotherapy and Counselling (UKCP). My special research interests include anxiety, depression, bereavement, the pre and post natal period and eating disorders.

I worked for the mental health charity MIND for 4 years.  Whilst there, I had the opportunity to work with a diverse and varied group of people. I have experience working with the following:

  • Anxiety
  • Health anxiety
  • Depression
  • Bereavement
  • Trauma
  • Family Issues
  • Eating disorders
  • The Pre and Post natal period

I have been building my private practice since 2019, seeing both face-to-face and Zoom clients.

Zoom sessions, having proved the profession’s resiliency and responsiveness during the Covid-19 pandemic, are still available for those who require them for proximity reasons.  These zoom contracts are agreed on a case-by-case basis.

I offer both short and long term contracts as necessary.
