About me
Hello Are you looking for someone to work with you on some struggles or difficulties you are experiencing such as depression, anxiety ,low self esteem or family issues and you are just feeling overwhelmed. These can all be indicators of memories of events that are held not only in our story but they also show up in our bodies. We work mindfully to gently see what comes up in a quiet and still space where we can tune into what is really going on for you.
What do I offer?
I believe that finding the right Therapist to work with you is the first step and I hope I can be that for you. I work with a mindful focus on what is happening for you as I am a sensorimotor trained psychotherapist. This approach enables us to work with the memories of events and experiences which show up as symptoms not only in the our mind but also in the body. Latest research informs us that what we are feeling and the sensations that we experience are the bodies way of recording what has happened. They are also the key to working with the wisdom of our whole being to heal and restore. This takes place when we make contact with our inner knowing that has often been shut down or not attended to and we begin to resource and equip you to cope in everyday life. This in essence is 'trauma' work and we will slowly pay attention to what is happening to us that has left us with symptoms not memories , symptoms of illness, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, thoughts of self harm or suicide.
What qualifications do I have?
I am trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy level 1 and 11. I have a psychology BSc (Hons) degree and a post qualifying level 7 diploma in counselling young adults and children. I also have a PGCE and I am a specialist teacher (SENCO) in teaching children with neurodiversity such as dyslexia, ADHA or ASD . I am also a Myers Brigg practitioner which means that I am trained to help you find your personality preferences. This helps us make sense of who you are and it helps to guide us to find your strengths and abilities that you may not have fully developed yet.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
On receiving your email or telephone enquiry I will respond by email to offer a telephone call when we would discuss what has brought you into counselling. After the initial call I will ask for fees before or on the day of our session. In that meeting we will agree on the number of sessions required, and on the work that you wanted to do. The sessions run for an hour, each week booked in series of six at one time. I will ask for 7 days notice of cancellation of a session for holidays and 24 hours in case of illness but I will require a retainer fee to keep that space for you.
