About me
Hi, I’m Kate, a Clinical Psychologist working in Liverpool.
Many of the people I work with have become experts at coping by carrying on. They keep going, meet their responsibilities, and put others first, often at the expense of their own wellbeing. Over time, this can lead to feeling overwhelmed, stuck, exhausted, or burnt out.
I offer a space where you can pause, feel heard, and gain a deeper understanding of what has brought you to this point. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I take time to understand you as a whole person, your experiences, relationships, strengths, and the ways you have learned to cope throughout your life.
My work is formulation-driven, which means we work together to build an understanding of your difficulties and what may be maintaining them. This shared understanding helps us develop a personalised plan for moving forward that feels meaningful, achievable, and tailored to you.
I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, including Psychodynamic Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Rather than applying a single model to everyone, I tailor my approach to your individual needs, drawing on the ideas and techniques that best fit you and your goals.
Whether you are struggling with stress, anxiety, low mood, burnout, self-criticism, or feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns, I aim to provide a warm, collaborative, and non-judgemental space where change can begin.
I have experience working with a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, and adjusting to chronic or life-limiting health conditions. I am also a neurodiversity-affirming practitioner and can work flexibly to help make therapy as accessible and supportive as possible.
If you're tired of simply plodding on and would like the opportunity to step back, make sense of what's happening, and find a way forward, please get in touch. I'd be happy to discuss whether we might be a good fit to work together.
