About me

Reaching out for support can feel daunting, especially when things feel overwhelming or hard to manage on your own. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, self-harm, family difficulties, low self-esteem or suicidal thoughts, you don’t have to go through it alone.

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor working with teenagers, young people and adults. Before starting my private practice, I trained with and volunteered for a local counselling charity, offering support, empathy and a safe space for people going through a wide range of difficulties.

As an Integrative Counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and tailor our sessions to your individual needs. Together, we can gently explore what is going on for you, make sense of your experiences, and find ways to help things feel more manageable. I believe that even small steps can make a meaningful difference.

Alongside my professional training and experience, I have also been a counselling client myself. Because of this, I understand how hard it can feel to take that first step and trust someone with what you are going through. I offer a confidential, non-judgemental space where you can talk at your own pace about whatever feels important to you, whether it relates to the past, present or future.

Clients have often told me they feel safe and at ease with me, and that they have been able to share things they have never spoken about before.

Having the time and space to talk things through can feel like a relief when everything feels overwhelming. Together, we can gently explore your thoughts and feelings, understand your experiences more deeply, and find ways to support you through what you are facing.

Finding the right counsellor for you matters. I offer a free 20-minute telephone or Teams video call, so you can ask questions, get a sense of how I work, and decide whether I feel like the right counsellor for you.

Alongside my counselling training, I continue to develop my knowledge through additional professional development. This allows me to support clients using current understanding and evidence-based approaches.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
