About me

Reaching out for support is not always easy, and for many people it can feel like a big and uncertain step. By being here, you are already taking an important first step towards caring for yourself and recognising that you do not have to manage things alone.

People come to counselling for many different reasons. You may be struggling with depression, anxiety, bereavement, the effects of past trauma, relationship difficulties, low confidence, stress, or feeling emotionally overwhelmed.  Whatever has brought you here, you do not have to face it alone. I offer a safe, caring and confidential space where you can feel listened to, supported, and understood without judgement.

I also support couples who may be experiencing communication difficulties, conflict, emotional distance, or challenges following significant life events.

Choosing a counsellor can feel overwhelming. Talking to someone you do not know about deeply personal experiences may seem daunting or unfamiliar right now. However, seeking support can also open the possibility for change, understanding, and a different way forward.

I offer a safe, caring, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Together, we can explore the difficulties you may be facing, gain greater self-awareness and understanding, and work towards positive change, helping you to feel more empowered and in control of your life.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and a qualified Integrative Counsellor/Psychotherapist. I work using a range of therapeutic approaches, including Person-Centred (Humanistic), CBT, and Psychodynamic therapy. This allows me to adapt the way we work together to best meet your individual needs.

During an initial assessment session, I will listen to what has brought you to counselling and what changes you hope for in your life. If you would like any further information before arranging an appointment, please feel free to call me on 07867 555 428 for a free confidential conversation, or you are welcome to email me.

I also offer online and telephone counselling for those who may prefer the flexibility or accessibility this provides. Sessions are available via Zoom, FaceTime, WhatsApp, or telephone, alongside face-to-face counselling.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
