About me

I know this is difficult, it can take great courage to consider looking for some professional help, but well done, you have made the first step. You are now valuing and beginning to care for yourself and saying “I do need support and help, I don't have to deal with this on my own”.

But it is not easy knowing which counsellor to choose is it? Speaking with a complete stranger about deeply personal matters, may seem daunting, unnatural and impossible at the moment. However with this first step you are opening the door to the opportunity of making changes in your life.

What brought you here? Depression, Anxiety, Bereavement, Relationship or Work difficulties, Phobias, Abuse, Stress, Low self-confidence, or Low self-esteem, are you feeling alone, confused, worthless? Do you have concerns whether life is worth living? Whatever it may be, although probably very difficult, well done, you have now made that first step to helping you.

So what can I do for you? I can offer you a safe, caring, confidential, and non-judgemental space for you to explore your feelings and thoughts and any life experiences that may be the cause of your seeking counselling today. Working together we can explore past experiences, increase your self-awareness, make changes, develop strategies, and empower you to have greater choices and control of your life for the future.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and a qualified Integrative Counsellor/Psychotherapist. This means I am trained and work with clients in a range of different theoretical approaches, including Person Centred (Humanistic), CBT and Psychodynamic. This allows a flexibility with my work, that ensures my clients needs can be met and we can work together in a way that suits you.

At our initial assessment I will listen to why you are considering Counselling, and what differences you would like in your life if we work together. If you would like any more information, before making an appointment, please call me on 07867 555 428 for a free and confidential talk, or you can email me.

For a number of years, I have also been able to offer Online Counselling with either Zoom, Facetime, WhatsApp, Skype and Telephone Counselling, if this would help you with either accessibility or mobility or any other concerns you may currently have with face to face counselling.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
