About me

*Stress and anxiety specialist*

My clinical practice is devoted to supporting clients with stress, anxiety, burnout and low mood. I am also trained in treating all forms of OCD (including intrusive thought OCD) and Health Anxiety.

My clients often work in corporate environments and have added elements of stressful work lives that may need to be considered during our sessions. For other clients, stress may have been part of life for a long time, but become unmanageable following a major life event; the loss of someone close, a house move, change of job or during fertility treatment. Many people during these times experience feeling that they are unable to wind down or relax. They feel constantly switched on and sleep may become a problem.

I am a UK Heath Care Professions Counsel (HCPC) registered Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of NHS experience. Currently, I work solely in private practice. I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. During my time in the NHS, I supervised a small team of therapists and regularly provided teaching on the Doctorate Psychology courses at various Universities. I started my private practice in 2019 and worked in the corporate space for a number of years as an in-house psychologist within a law firm. I am trained in using many different therapies such as CBT, ACT and CFT and so will be able to adapt therapy to a client's particular needs and preferences.

I’m always happy to have a chat by phone to help you to decide if therapy may be right for you. You can call, email or text and I will get in touch to arrange a time for us to talk.

Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

Further information

“Kate helped me through a terrible case of anxiety relating to food. After 3 years of struggling to eat out and feeling greatly restricted by what I could eat. Social situations were extremely awkward and it was even impacting my relationship.

Kate helped me to understand why my body was reacting the way it was and coached me through eating out. We gradually built up to eating white meat and fish out, a few months ago I could not imagine doing this.

Now I can go to restaurants and socialise without the constant fear of being ill. No doubt I still have to keep at it and make sure I don't let the anxiety get the better of me but one thing is for sure, Kate was a huge help!”
