About me
Are you having to cope with the death of a loved one and feeling the overwhelming experience of loss and grief? Have you or someone you love been diagnosed with a terminal illness? You are not alone. I provide a space where you can talk and be listened to as you explore your experience of bereavement or a terminal health diagnosis. I can give you the chance to express how you feel and say the things you feel unable to say to friends and family without feeling judged. I offer a warm, supportive and calm space where we can explore your thoughts and fears.
It may be that you need just a few sessions to support you through a difficult time in life. Or you may choose to work on a longer-term basis to explore on-going issues that are affecting how you feel.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. I started my training in 2020 and am qualified with a counselling foundation degree from the University of Plymouth.
I am an integrative counsellor, which means that I am trained in a number of therapeutic approaches. Central to my work is a person-centred approach, with a focus on what is concerning you. I support people diagnosed with a terminal illness in a hospice setting, as well as family members who have been bereaved or are anticipating bereavement.
I volunteered as a Samaritan for many years, talking to people in crisis who may be considering ending their lives.
I offer a compassionate space where you can be open and honest without judgment.
I specialise in working with feelings of anxiety, and depression including suicidal thoughts, bereavement and living with a terminal illness.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
