About me

About Me
Life’s challenges can feel overwhelming. You may have lost your sense of self, or purpose in life. Perhaps you’re ready to heal the deep emotional wounds you carry. I am an experienced Person-Centred counsellor offering a calm, nurturing space, where you can gently explore what is at the root of your distress. I will be beside you ensuring care and safety as you face your troubles. Whether it's working through painful times, creating more harmonious relationships or discovering ways to enrich your life, whatever you bring can be worked with.

I have 16 years experience supporting adults and young people with their mental health. I have worked with experiences of loss, anxiety, hopelessness and trauma in a variety of settings. My interest lies in building safety with you, helping you feel secure and grounded as you learn more about yourself. We work together to replace negative patterns with self-compassion, laying the path for recovery and growth. See my website for more details.

Confidentiality and non-judgement underpin my practice. With empathy, I strive to truly understand what life is like for you, building a genuine relationship based on respect; you are accepted as you are. At your pace, we will uncover your true feelings and needs. From here, solutions to problems can emerge. If this resonates, please do get in touch.

I understand how daunting it can feel to reach out for support. To help you feel more comfortable, I offer an introductory session of up to 30 minutes, either face to face or over the phone. This allows me to find out what is troubling you, tell you more about how I work and answer any questions you have. If we feel we are a good fit, we can book in a full session.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
