Karen Sedgwick MBACP, UKATA Dip. (Psychotherapy), Adv. Dip Counselling
It can be a daunting process finding the right counsellor for your own unique situation and experience.
I place the relationship between client and counsellor at the heart of effective therapy and believe it is important that you find a counsellor you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings with.
I offer a free initial session for us to meet and discuss what you would like from therapy, to help you decide if I am the right counsellor for you and for me to ensure that I have the right experience to meet your needs.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have many years experience of counselling individuals with a range of problems. I gained my Advanced Diploma in Integrative Humanistic Counselling (BACP Accredited) in 2008 and have more recently received a Diploma in Transactional Analysis from UKATA.
I am a professional member of BACP, UKATA and EATA and abide by their code of ethics. I am professionally supervised by a UKCP registered supervisor as part of my commitment to ethical practice.
My theoretical approach is Transactional Analysis and I incorporate some CBT techniques into my work when appropriate.
