About me
I am able to offer counselling services from my counselling practice based in Waltham Chase, Southampton.
Are you unhappy, anxious or struggling with day to day life? Do you wish you could enjoy life more? Have you been suffering from stress, depression or anxiety in your professional or personal life. Would you like to make changes in the way you react or feel about things. Together we can explore what is holding you back, what is getting in the way and identify the reasons for your feelings. I can support you through your journey of making those changes and moving on with your life with renewed confidence.
Having worked with in the NHS as a counsellor I have experience in working with clients who suffer from anxiety and depression. I am non-directive allowing my clients to work through their issues at their pace. I offer a safe environment which enables a client to explore their problems without judgement or shame.
I am a specialist in dealing with bereavement and significant loss, which could include relationship breakdown, loss of health etc.
My approach is predominantly based on Transactional Analysis which is a theory of personality and systematic psychotherapy for personal growth and personal change. I believe that everyone has the capacity to make the changes they desire in order to live a happier and more contented life.
As an experienced therapist I offer, a low cost, confidential first session to discuss your needs before you decided if you would like to proceed with further sessions. I am a caring and approachable person and aim to provide support within a safe and trusting environment. I work with both short and long term clients.
In order to be flexible during these times I ham happy to offer counselling via Skype, Zoom or telephone.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
