About me

I am a qualified and experienced Person-Centred Counsellor who specialises in providing online and telephone counselling.

I offer both short-term counselling and long-term counselling.

As a Person-Centred Counsellor, I believe in our ability to develop personally, to grow as individuals and to experience positive change.

I am very passionate about helping people to overcome barriers and challenges and have a warm, calm, empathic and hopeful approach.

I am a very empathic practitioner who offers a warm and safe space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences in a non-judgmental and accepting environment.

I work with people to help them to gain clarity and understanding about their experiencing of life, which can help to bring about a sense of internal peace and can help to facilitate positive change.

I understand that at times, we may not feel heard, not listened to, or perhaps misunderstood. I am here to listen, to hear you and to offer acceptance and understanding in a safe, dedicated place where I am able to give you my complete focus and full attention.

Counselling can be perceived as a precious space, which is entirely yours. A space for you to explore any worries, concerns or personal issues which may be important to you.

As a counsellor, I appreciate, value and respect my clients, and strive to develop a trusting therapeutic relationship where personal development can be achieved, and positive change can occur.

When looking for a counsellor, it is important that you find someone who is right for you.  I offer a free phone consultation which provides an opportunity for you to let me know what your needs may be, and also allows you the opportunity to assess how you may feel about working with me.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • BA(h) Humanistic Counselling Practice - University of Nottingham.

Together with working in private practice, I also have experience of working therapeutically within schools, University settings and organisations specialising in online and telephone counselling.

I have worked therapeutically with a diverse range of individuals, who have presented with a diverse range of issues.  I have supported clients who have experienced anxiety, low mood, depression, grief and loss, low self-esteem, relationship issues and trauma, amongst other presentations.

I continue my professional development by undertaking regular CPD training.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
