About me
Taking the first steps towards counselling can be daunting and I aim to offer a friendly and genuine space where I hope clients can feel at ease.
All of the therapies and workshops I offer are person centred based meaning the client is seen as the expert on their own lives and rather than the therapist giving their opinion to the client the counsellor or psychotherapist in this approach works to understand an individual's experience from their point of view. Through unconditional positive regards for the client and an environment of non-judgement the client is encouraged and given the space to expand and grow at a pace that suits them. I also offer both group and individual meditation tuition.
I am committed to continued professional development and keep up to date with developments in the field of counselling and psychotherapy and am fully insured.
I offer a unique environment where therapy and workshops can take place including a comfortable indoor area with wood burning stove plus various wilder outdoor spaces including a well-being garden with permaculture at the heart of its creation, a seven acre field with a secluded wooded area with fire pit picnic table and spectacular views. I believe that environment can be therapeutic in its own right which has inspired me to develop a unique counselling environment for clients who wish to see me here in Rogart
I offer one to one counselling, nature connection programs for individuals and groups, equine facilitated therapy for individuals and groups, meditation sessions and sessions exploring ourselves in relation to nature and the cycle of the year.
Training, qualifications & experience
I qualified at Strathclyde University in 2014 with a Post Graduate Diploma in counselling and psychotherapy.
I also have over 20 years of experience with meditation and hold a certificate in mindful meditation and have also trained in outdoor based therapy.
I have worked extensively with counselling agencies covering a wide range of mental health issues., with veterans for Poppy Scotland in Inverness and with young people as a school counsellor. I now focus soley on my private practice where I see clients on a one to one basis, run a six week nature connection programme for children and young people or adult groups and offer equine facilitated therapy for individuals and groups.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
