About me
Hello and well done for taking that first step to improving your wellbeing.
My approach is warm, gentle and understanding. I strive to create an inclusive environment that welcomes clients from all backgrounds, including LGBTQ+. Most importantly, I want to help make positive changes in your life, specialising in issues arising from childhood. From time to time we all experience ups and downs in our relationships but if one or both people in the relationship are having mental health problems this often brings extra challenges and we may underestimate the impact this can have on the strongest of relationships either at home or at work.
I work with both individuals and couples, helping with a full range of issues such as but not limited to; Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, low self-esteem and family issues.
Based on the belief that we are all equal, can think, feel, and change our lives. Which is the Philosophy of Transactional Analysis (TA). I centre my work around understanding what changes you want from therapy, and I take my time building trust and developing an understanding of what drives you and what holds you back.
Ultimately, we can direct our lives in a way that makes us resilient to mental health and relationship struggles. I practice Transactional Analysis and bodywork and am happy to share the theory which is purposely described in everyday language.
I came to Counselling late in life and it is my second career as such I have first-hand experience in both work and family life.
I have been a counsellor since 2017, initially as a student and then after completing the diploma in Counselling (Level 6) and a member of both the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (accredited). And I am working my way to a Masters.
I work online and have Counselling Rooms at Horsham, Brighton and Lewes. Both Horsham and Lewes have off-road parking. www.counsellinglewes.com
