About me

Hello my name is Julie, I'm an Integrative therapist with many years of proven experience in counselling.

Taking the first step to seek support is usually the most challenging, which is perfectly understandable as it requires us to be vulnerable.

Life can be so unpredictable and we never know what hurdles we may encounter. Divorce, bereavement, anxiety, depression, domestic violence, I could continue as the list is endless but all equally as important as the other. Sometimes, we may develop coping strategies such as alcohol, gambling, shopping or anything else that stops us from dealing with the thoughts and feelings at that time, then we may beat ourselves up for behaving in that manner, promising that it won't happen again, sound familiar?

I believe we were born innocent and perfect, gradually becoming conditioned to conform to someone else's idea of who we should be gradually losing sight of perfect child we once were. That child doesn't go away they just become adapted adults and may seek validation in various ways.

My integrative approach allows me to tailor our work to suit your needs, ensuring you feel fully supported throughout this process.

Life can often be complex and challenging but I am committed to being a source of support as you explore the hurdles you face with compassion and understanding.  I aim to create a warm and welcoming environment where you feel free to express your thoughts and feelings without judgement.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
