About me
I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor and hypnotherapist and offer a caring, supportive non-judgemental approach to helping clients to work through any issues or worries in a confidential safe environment. I have experience of working in private practice and at Mind and Women’s Aid and have worked with clients with a number of issues, including anxiety and stress, depression, trauma, grief and loss, low self-esteem, fears and phobias, weight management (including virtual gastric band) and smoking cessation.
I am trained in an integrative approach to therapy which enables me to use different models of therapy as appropriate for you.
The integrative approach includes the following models:
- Person-Centred Counselling
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Psychodynamic Therapy
- Transactional Analysis
- Hypnotherapy.
Having gained many years of experience in business I have developed a good understanding of the stress associated with the modern day workplace and the effects this can have on your mental health and will be able to help you deal with the challenges you face at work.
I have a deep belief in the benefits of hypnotherapy which instils a deep sense of relaxation and enables me to use the power of positive suggestion to help you make changes to your behaviour, thoughts and feelings.
I am an accredited member of the National Counselling Society and I am registered with the National Hypnotherapy Society and as such abide by their Code of Ethics. I am a Registered Hypnotherapist with the General Hypnotherapy Register. I receive regular supervision and take my continuous professional development very seriously.
