About me

Counselling - An investment  in you.

I would like to extend a warm welcome to you,as you have now taken the first step to making changes in your life.

I am aware that the initial steps to finding a therapist that you can feel comfortable with can seem like a daunting process, therefore it is important that you choose someone that you can connect with and work at your pace.

As a therapist I am able to provide a safe, non-judgmental and confidential environment in which we can explore any anxieties, concerns or difficulties that you may be experiencing at present. I can offer a secure and welcoming space to help you make sense of your thoughts, emotions and experiences from your understanding and perspective.

I am interested in working with clients age 18 and above who may be experiencing difficulties  such as anxiety, depression, stress  and other psychological related conditions. I particularly specialize in working with older clients, who are often under represented. I have experience  with working with clients who are supporting family members with conditions such as Alzheimers/Dementia, long term health conditions, including mobility difficulties or who have now taken on the role as a carer.

As we go through life many of us will face changes in the way we live, this can be through illness, disability or having to cope with the loss of family or friends. Our role may also change and we may end up caring for a parent or partner.  Even without these difficulties, many of us can feel worried as we approach life's milestones which may include a change in employment, marriage/ relationship issues, redundancy or we may find that we have trouble adapting to life once we have stopped working. These worries can easily lead to feelings of anxiety, isolation, unhappiness and stress. It is important that you  can feel listened to and supported during these times. Our work together may help you to make informed choices, regain control and help you to live your life your way.

I can offer a short term modal of working 12 - 36 weeks or longer term of up to 3 years, the choice will be yours to decide.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
