Julie Lenihan Dip.Couns - Counsellor Registered MBCAP
I'll help you when you feel anxious, stressed and unable to cope, with me you have the opportunity to talk through your thoughts, identify feelings and find elements of yourself that are hidden or lost. Including if you have suffered a bereavement and are finding it difficult to fathom your grief. I support you in finding your way, whatever that is for you.
An initial consultation will give you the opportunity to share with me your reasons for seeking therapy, I can outline in person my approach and we can discuss how this fits in with your goals and expectations. At the end of this free consultation, I will ask if you wish to proceed, if yes, then we will set a day and time and agree to a weekly contact. I offer short term therapy, normally a 12 week period or long term.
During your therapy we will build in space, time and energy for you to explore your immediate world and navigate the known and unknown areas of yourself.
I have experience of working face to face, via the telephone and on-line with adults both privately and at a specialist bereavement charity. I have also spent time in a school counselling setting, working with teenagers with a variety of needs.
I am approachable, easy to talk to and here for you. I want to help you on a journey, to walk beside you as you explore your way forward, finding strength and building a new resilience.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
