About me

A Counsellor and Psychotherapist since March 1995, I have 17 years of experience in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I work with Individuals and Couples and have helped many people make successful changes in their life.

I provide private counselling in the City area of London EC1. Kings cross NW1and in Leytonstone where I see clients for both short term counselling and open ended therapy.

What to Expect during Counselling and Psychotherapy

At our initial assessment there is no obligation to proceed if you decide not to.This is an opportunity for us to discuss the life difficulties for which you are considering Counselling or Psychotherapy and to explore how we will work together and what you can expect from therapy. I feel it is very important that you as the client feel heard and understood and that you feel comfortable working with me. The first session is an ideal time to look at how we move forward I will aim to answer any questions you may have about what happens next. How appointments are set up and to explain the confidentiality agreement.

As a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Accredited (MBACP Accred) Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I am highly trained and experienced in using Behaviour Therapy, Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Therapy, Integrative Therapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Person Centred Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) and Transactional Analysis (TA) to work with people to improve their wellbeing.

People can experience emotional distress at times, maybe because of a difficult childhood, relationship issues, past or recent trauma, bereavement. You may be experiencing anxiety or depression, or feel that life holds no meaning for you. You may feel you only focus on how to move away from a negative situation rather than being able to look at what you want for yourself, what your goals are. What if you need to make important decisions. You know you want to make the changes, but somehow feel stuck in following through with them.

I believe therapy can help the client make connections with early life experiences and how those experiences might still be impacting on the way they are living their life in the present. We sometimes still use old outdated coping strategies to help solve problems. I believe through therapy that we can build up and restore more healthier coping strategies and expand on our inner resources so that we can regain a better quality of life and feel that there are more choices open to us. It is so important that people feel respected and truly valued for who they really are.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
