About me
As an experienced therapist in my 40s, my approach is to get to know you as an individual and create a safe space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and actions, free from any judgement. I work with adults of all ages, genders, backgrounds and cultures.
The counselling and psychotherapy I provide is a solution focused talking therapy where my full attention, empathy, and respect for you will always be present. We will explore your past, and all the types of relationships you have, so you can be more in control of your life in the here and now.
The therapy I offer will challenge you to think about how you can change any negative thoughts or patterns that are occurring, so you can live the life you want to lead in a healthier and more authentic way. Being true to who you are and having faith in yourself and your decisions.
As a trained Integrative counsellor in Person Centred Therapy (PCT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Transactional Analysis (TA) the counselling will be a mix of some, or all of these forms of therapy, depending on the issues you bring.
The therapy will involve us working together in a collaborative way so that you can make the right choices for you and understand your needs and wants more. This is your time to explore whatever you need to in a safe and confidential space.
I will be led by what you bring to the sessions and will support and guide you in that time. Our therapeutic relationship and connection will be key in helping provide the right environment for you to make the changes you need to for a healthier life.
My experience
My therapeutic background is in bereavement, grief and other forms of loss including life-limited illnesses and relationship breakdowns. I was a bereavement counsellor at Macmillan Wellbeing Centre in Manchester for two years before becoming self-employed.
Other issues I also work with on a daily basis include work related stress, anxiety, general stress disorder, body image, self-esteem issues, ADHD, eating disorders, panic attacks, insomnia, fertility issues, relationship issues and Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Where do we go from here?
I offer in-person therapy at my home in Fallowfield M14 7GD, but I am also happy to do the sessions online or outdoors at a park in the Manchester area.
Once we have agreed to go forward I will email over the contract that will need to be signed before our first session takes place. I also ask clients to provide their emergency contact and GP details too.
The contract will give you information about advance payment of sessions and cancellation fees too.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch so we can discuss what you are looking for from the counselling and what approach you would like to take.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
