About me

I am an experienced Psychologist and Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (Level 6), who works with adults and young people experiencing despair, anxiety, low self-worth, burnout and relationship difficulties. Together we make sense of what's happening now, explore the entrenched patterns beneath this and co-create a clear plan for change. Therapy with me is warm, compassionate, thoughtful and collaborative, helping you feel steadier, kinder to yourself, and more confident in who you are.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Educational Psychologist, with over 17 years’ experience of working therapeutically. My background has equipped me to specialise in supporting people navigating the impact of early trauma, who experience attachment difficulties and unhelpful patterns of relating. My specialism also includes supporting parents experiencing post-adoption issues and the lasting impact of their children's early relational experiences. I am able to combine adult therapy with a package of family support, in such cases. I have expertise in supporting neurodivergent individuals and families, particularly those experiencing SEND-system burnout.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

Further information

As a woman from a North East working-class background, I understand the barriers people often face in accessing and sustaining effective therapy. These barriers, though invisible, are very real. Considering this, I offer a non-judgemental, compassionate and welcoming approach. I aim to give people a sanctuary in which to think, feel and move forward.
