About me

My name is Jonathan from On Point Counselling Services, thank you for showing an interest in my profile.  I am a qualified and experienced Counsellor and can offer integrative counselling, which means I can adapt my approach which can be tailored to your specific requirements. I am able to offer counselling to adults,  and couples. I can offer online, face-face or telephone sessions whichever you feel more comfortable doing.

I have over 18 years experience working and supporting clients to make positive changes in their lives. It is my belief that counselling should be affordable and accessible to all. To enable this within my practice I work from home, to keep costs down for clients and reduce overheads. Sessions are a set rate of £40 per session. I offer a free 20 minute telephone consultation where I will complete an initial assessment with you. This enables me to get a clear understanding of the reasons you are looking to access counselling and what you are hoping to take away from it. This is also a good opportunity to ask me any questions or concerns that you may have. I can be flexible how we work together, this solely is down to your  personal preference. This can be either face-face/online, telephone or varying combinations.

Deciding you would like to talk to someone about your thoughts, feelings and behaviour is a courageous decision and something you should be proud of that you are considering taking these steps. I aim to provide a safe and warm environment, where you can speak freely without fear of judgement. So often in our lives we reach a place where we are struggling in some capacity or another. It may be a deep routed issue that goes back to childhood,  substance misuse, a past relationship, current relationship, mental health, trauma or general life direction. I have extensive experience of working with ADHD, Autism and other Neurodiverse presentations.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
