About me
My aim as a counsellor is to offer a confidential place to explore what is causing your difficulty or worry. Within the initial session we would discuss what type of support is being looked for and agree a way forward.
About me. I started my training in 2003 in psychodynamic counselling this type of counselling helps with many issues that someone may have been struggling with for a length of time. I also offer Brief Solution Focused Therapy, which as the title suggests is of a shorter nature and work with very much a focus in mind.
Training, qualifications & experience
My Core training started in 2003 and is in psychodynamic Therapy. This type of therapy can be used for many issues that we find ourselves struggling with. This type of therapy usually explores issues that have happened historically and can be causing difficulty in the present. This can be used either as long term therapy or short usually 12 weeks. I have been accredited since 2010. I also us solution focused therapy (SFP) which is much shorter usually 6/8 weeks where there it is a specific goal in mind.
Since then I have and have worked for various organizations as an affiliate and also in an Employee Assistance Provider setting where Brief Solution Focused model is used.
Throughout this time I have as per requirement continued with professional development and incorporate newly learns skills into my practice.
I am an accredited and registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
I have worked in other organizational settings such as social services with adolescents then to the elderly referred to me by supportive organizations where my oldest client was 90 years old.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
